What We Do
The Blowing Rock Garden Club has been around since bees learned how to pollinate flowers... well, really just since 1967, but we think that's saying a lot!
Our focus and projects change over the years to reflect membership interest and involvement, but through all the changes our main service project is caring for the Blowing Rock Memorial Gardens. Those are the lovely jaw dropping gardens (if we do say so ourselves) that run along the front of Sunset Park in downtown Blowing Rock.
In addition to the following current and developing projects, we offer a variety of other fun ways you can plug into our community including:
Current and Developing Projects
Besides caring for the Blowing Rock Memorial Gardens, which is our main service project, we have other projects that are in various stages of development. Please reach out if you are interested in learning more or getting involved in any of these programs!

Blowing Rock Memorial Gardens
Caring for the Memorial Garden is a huge responsibility as these are the large glorious gardens along the front and left side of the park for which the town is so well known. This year we have 4 work crews, each headed up by someone who knows what needs to be done. All levels are welcome! If you are interested in joining a crew please contact our current membership chair for details.

Supporting Town of BR Projects
From time to time the town will ask for our assistance with specific projects. Examples include cleaning up the Annie Cannon Memorial Gardens, planting the garden areas coming into Blowing Rock, planting the planters along the sidewalk in the spring and weeding in some of the town gardens. Please contact our current membership chair if you would like to assist with these sorts of projects as they arise.

Local Litter Pick Up
If you have noticed an increase in the litter around our state and our town, you're certainly not alone. Turns out...that increase correlates to a significant decrease in government funding for litter pick up, so we are currently working towards organizing within our membership and beyond to tidy up around our town! If you would like to get involved in organizing or just want to spend a couple of hours one day picking up some clutter with some friends and neighbors, please contact our current president, Joyce Zellner, for more info or to add your name to the list!

Lettuce Learn Program
We are partnering with this high country initiative to get our wee ones interested in gardening. Please contact our current membership chair if you are interesting in learning more or getting involved with this program.

Rumple Memorial Church Community Herb Garden
Our volunteers tend the herb garden next to the Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church located on Main Street. Fresh herbs are free for the picking for the church and garden club members! Please contact our current membership chair if you would like to volunteer for this program.
